Technical Support Specialist - Europe - Microarrays - to £30K

A highly innovative life science company that has grown significantly over the last five years is keen to recruit a Technical Applications Support specialist based from their office in the UK initially on a one year fixed term contract.

The role will involve supporting users of their genomic research instruments, trouble shooting technical issues and providing detailed technical advice to both customers and sales staff. The role is predominantly office based although there will be the occasional field based trip to seminars and customer sites. You will join a large team and be given full customer based training to ensure you are confident in the role.

You will be involved in managing the distribution network within EMEA. You will be responsible in increasing business through the distributors, as well as training and acting as the product specialist for any technical queries.

Reporting to the Distributor Manager, you will assume responsibility for the effective management of given territories and customers located in European, Middle Eastern and African countries. This will involving development of given territories in terms of sales growth and broadening of the product offering and mix with particular emphasis on increasing microbiological products.

You will also assist with general financial management of the territory. This includes assisting with setting budgets, preparing reports as required and assisting administration with payment issues and invoice related matters.

Kristina's Charity Walk for the Meningitis Trust

On September 25th our consultant Kristina Southcott will embark on a 21 mile walk in support of the Meningitis Trust. The walk will pass over various terrains through Stroud's famous Five Valleys.

Kristina is an extremely gifted consultant but in her own words - "simply walking on flat surfaces is a challenge for me, this will be an uncoordinated persons nightmare!"
