A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading supplier in the engineering plastics industry to take on the role as Business Manager. This small but well-established company supplies engineering plastics in the form of stock raw material and machined and custom items, based in the heart of Essex.
Due to increased workload and plans to expand into new product markets, there is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join the company to manage the day to day running of the commercial operations and existing team.
The company has experienced impressive growth over the last year and as a result is now in the position to employ someone with a proven record of driving sales and overall productivity, with a hands-on approach.
The role is primarily office based and will involve direct phone-based selling, the day to day running of the business operations and occasional off-site meetings. The business employs seven staff covering sales, warehouse and administration and they will report directly to you in this position.
The company has a strong market reputation and building upon this is targeting growth with a new range of engineered plastics. They are well-supported by major European principals.
To be qualified for this role you will require significant sales experience and the business acumen to drive a small companys operations. Negotiation skills are important and the ability to win business that is commercially viable based on profitability and delivery is key. Previous management experience is not essential however would be a real advantage.
Knowledge of the plastics distribution industry would be ideal however experience from similar industries such as steel and manufactured products or a relevant industrial background would also be considered. Those looking to step up from a sales role are also encouraged to apply.
