This successful, growing instrumentation company has a worldwide reputation in the field of materials science and process engineering instruments. Their products are sold to some of the largest global companies in a variety of scientific and industrial sectors.
The role on offer is an Applications Specialist in instrumentation relating to materials science and characterisation. This will involve dealing with all technical customer enquiries, providing pre and post-sales support. This also includes advising customers on methodology, data analysis and interpretation. You will provide expert opinion and evaluate client samples and requirements.
Ad-hoc travel will be required to perform installations and post-sales training and attending meetings to discuss process and data interpretation issues. Distributor training and support will form part of the role as well as attending exhibitions and conferences in Europe and occasionally worldwide. Travel is up to 20%.
There will be some sales process involvement such as demonstrations to prospective clients and arranging and presenting at seminars in-house and externally. This is a role you can grow with as the company is expanding and there are different career options on offer. Full training on the technology will be given as this is a unique technology.
The ideal background for the role would be applications experience ideally within instrumentation and this could include engineering, physical properties characterisation, physics-based or a more general instrumentation background if you are keen to learn a new specialism.
