A rare opportunity has arisen with a leading supplier in the engineering plastics industry to take on the role as Sales Manager. This small but well-established company supplies engineering plastics in the form of stock raw material and machined and custom items, based in the heart of Essex.
Due to plans to expand into new product markets, this is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join the company to take full control of sales and business development and also offers the opportunity to manage the day to day running of the commercial and operations team (7 people).
The company has experienced impressive growth over the last year and as a result is now in the position to expand its product portfolio which creates a real opportunity to grow the business significantly. They now have the product range to access a £100 million market and taking just a small percentage will result in significant business growth and this will directly increase your earnings potential as the bonus is based on any increase in company profitability so your results will be rewarded.
The role is primarily office based and will involve direct phone-based selling, the day to day running of the business operations and occasional client meetings. The business employs seven staff covering sales, warehouse and administration and they will report directly to you in this position.
The company has a very strong market reputation and building upon this is targeting growth with a new range of engineered plastics. They are well-supported by major European principals.
To be successful you will require significant sales experience to drive a small companys growth. Negotiation skills are important and the ability to win business that is commercially viable based on profitability and delivery is key. Previous management experience is not essential however would be an advantage.
Knowledge of the plastics distribution industry would be ideal however the company is flexible re your product experience if you have the sales skills outlined. Those looking to step up from a non-managerial sales role are also encouraged to apply.
