Leading provider of research services in the field of personalised medicines is looking for an experienced cancer cell biologist. The company has a great reputation for providing services and tools at the forefront of life science research.
The role is focussed on providing oncology translational research services to the biotech and pharmaceutical sector , in support of drug discovery programmes throughout the pre-clinical process.
Key functions include target validation and compound/RNAi screening to uncover novel targets with inherent anti-cancer activity.
Your core focus will be to design and carry out experimental studies required to drive the research forward, including large scale RNAi screens and cell based assays required for target validation. These may include 2D and 3D growth assays, Western blotting, flow cytometry and cell based ELISAs.
The role will involve:
- Hands on practical work in the laboratory
- Complex assay development
- Project and client management
You will need a relevant BSc or PhD including significant practical experience of cell biology within the oncology field.
Experience with siRNA/shRNA screening technologies, robotics programming and data handling packages such as Spotfire and Knime would be highly advantageous.
