Team Manager in Cambridge - 12 months contract

The company is a marketing leading international life science reagents business.
Working within a dynamic marketing team specifically within the Product Integration Team this role involves managing the team responsible for working with our clients Supplier Managers Product Managers Laboratory and Scientific Support team to select best in class products for addition to the company's rapidly growing catalogue. The role will involve the planning, budgeting and implementation of strategies to enable the catalogue to expand as quickly as possible in order to meet the needs of our consumers and maximize revenue.
The Product Integration Team is responsible for acquiring and utilising scientific information from suppliers and internal laboratories to create product datasheets for publication on the public website along with all supporting documentation including protocols and safety datasheets in a format suitable for consumers to make their purchase decisions. The Team is also responsible for continuously updating those datasheets with new information and journal references citing the use of the product as well as maintaining accuracy and quality.
As the Team Manager you will be responsible for managing the Product Integration Team to achieve its monthly product addition targets and developing new internal systems and processes to ensure that this is done in the most efficient way possible.

  • Line management of 7 scientists.
  • Managing the product addition budget.
  • Monitoring producing reports and communicating across the company on product addition and product features KPIs.
  • Maximise product sales by prioritising the product addition pipeline and the addition of product features with the highest potential return on investment.
  • Maintain the quality criteria products must meet in order to feature in the portfolio.
  • Work closely with the IT department to drive the product addition process improvements and represent the Product Integration Team at IT forums.
  • Manage the implementation of pricing strategies across all product ranges.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure the correct and safe shipping and handling of all products.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree or above in Life Sciences and preferably postgraduate experience in a laboratory or the Life Sciences industry. A track record of line management is essential.
Experience with antibody detection methods such as Western Blot immunohistochemistry Immunofluorescence ELISA and Flow Cytometry would be preferable as would experience of using kits and protocol writing. However this is not essential
Commercial experience in marketing or sales or from a commercial lab setting (e.g purchasing budget management) would be an advantage
