Field Applications Specialist | Genomics | UK and Benelux | to £45K (£48K OTE)

  • Are you a genomics user looking for a move into a business focussed role?

  • Are you keen to continue using your technical experience to support other users?

  • Would you like to be involved in a variety of customer projects to keep things interesting?

If so, a field applications position could be the perfect opportunity for you!

A global genomics instrument manufacturer is currently looking for a Field Applications specialist to look after their UK and Benelux customers.

You will be supporting the customer before they purchase with technical discussions, demos, seminars and workshops. This means you will be working closely with the sales team. When the customer has purchased you will be training and supporting them to make sure they get the best from the products. You will support them with technical problems by troubleshooting. In this role you will have opportunities to be involved in group projects with your team. You could be involved in designing customer training schemes, particularly prior to instrument launches. You will also go to conferences to talk to customers amongst other members of the commercial team.

This role is part of a team of 5 field applications specialists in Western Europe. You don’t need to have experience in this type of role before. The company is more than happy to train people who have some commercial experience and a molecular background but aren’t specialists in this technology. Alternatively, if you have a strong technical background in genomics as a user of Next Generation Sequencing or microarrays but no commercial experience, they are also able to support and train you on the commercial side of the role.

This is a friendly supportive company. They are well established but also still of a size where you can get to know who all your colleagues are and will have the support you need. Their staff tend to stay very long term and progress their careers. In fact your manager for this role started out as a field applications specialist and was promoted to his current position.

If you are keen to support customers and would like to discuss this opportunity, call Genomics Recruitment Specialist, Caroline on 01279 657716 or .
