For a long time we thought that our genes were solely responsible for our destiny. However, with the study of epigenetics, we are now starting to understand how environmental factors can affect what information we pass on to the next generations.
My client is a fast growing start-up that has taken on the responsibility for bringing epigenetics to the forefront of scientific research internationally. They have developed a unique technology for the sequencing of epigenetic markers in DNA and are constantly developing new products as well as partnership opportunities with laboratories around the globe. The people behind this start-up were also originally behind what is now a market leader in genomics. And since every employee gets shares in the company, this is a particularly exciting time to join the company as you will grow together!
This is your opportunity to join their dynamic Cambridge based team as a Business Development Associate or Manager (depending on experience). The objective of this role is to build a profitable business through collaborative partnerships. You will find new partner laboratories to run a service using the company’s technology for actively sourced customers (researchers) worldwide. You will identify sales opportunities by keeping up with the research being done in the genomics arena globally. This role will involve about 40% global travel.
Your PhD (or equivalent) in life science, combined with some sales experience, could be your ticket to this rare career opportunity. A proven entrepreneurial mind (e.g. business competition, technology transfer, consultancy) with no sales experience will also be considered. Experience in epigenetics and/or sequencing would be advantageous but is not essential.
If you are keen to develop business by building relationships and are passionate about the science, please get in touch with Keren on 01279 657 716 or email@example.com.
